Online Safety Policy

1. Introduction

At Phi, we are committed to providing a safe and responsible online environment for all users. Our online safety policy ensures that content moderation, membership requirements, and reporting mechanisms are in place to protect our community while upholding the highest standards of digital safety. This policy is developed in alignment with UK regulations and industry best practices, incorporating guidance from the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC).

‍

2. Age-Gating Moderation

To ensure age-appropriate content access, Phi employs an age-appropriate system for all users on the platform based on BBFC classifications and after completion of a consultation with the BBFC in 2024:

·        Users aged 16+ will have access to content aligned with BBFC’s 15 certification.

·        While policies aim to align closely with BBFC classifications, certain variations may apply to meet the platform’s moderation needs and ensure compliance to the Online Safety Act 2023.

‍

3. Membership Plans & Age Verification

·        All users must subscribe to a membership plan to access the platform.

·        Users under 16 are not consented or advised to join the platform even with parental or guardian approval.

·        Subscription-based membership and YOTI selfie age verification helps verify the user’s age and ensures a responsible online experience.

‍

4. Next of Kin Contact System

·        Users may nominate a next of kin as an emergency contact.

·        The nominated next of kin must acknowledge they are over 18 and provide consent to be contacted.

·        If we have concerns regarding a user’s wellbeing, we may reach out to the next of kin for support and intervention.

‍

5. Artificial Intelligence (AI) Moderation

·        AI-driven moderation is applied to all user-generated content except direct messages.

·        Content is reviewed before being published to prevent harmful or inappropriate material from going live.

·        Direct messages remain private unless flagged for investigation by a user.

‍

6. Human Moderation

·        If AI moderation flags potential policy violations, human moderators will review the content before publication.

·        Appeals and reported content are also reviewed by human moderators to ensure fairness and accuracy.

‍

7. Community Reporting System

·        Users can report content they believe violates platform policies.

·        Human moderators will review reported content to determine if action is needed.

·        Community involvement enhances safety and ensures accountability.

‍

8. Enforcement & Compliance

·        Violations of our online safety policies may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent bans.

·        Users have the right to appeal moderation decisions through our dedicated review process.

‍

9. Review & Updates

·        This policy will be regularly reviewed to reflect changes in legal requirements, technology, and user needs.

·        Any updates will be communicated to users via our platform and official channels.
