Buff the Highland Coo

Buff was a highland coo,
Who had grown tired of the big, cold hills.
He felt more at home among the flowers,
That's where he found his thrills.

Buff has a secret, when he gets MAD he turns into Master Frumpy Bum, causing a whole lot of havoc!

Strawberry the Shetland Pony

Strawberry was small and quiet,
But don't be fooled by her size.
She had a big heart full of love
And a mind that was very wise.

Strawberry has a secret, when she gets SCARED she turns into Little Miss Jumpy Bum and can turn things all topsy turvy!

We wanted to combine our Indian and Scottish heritage by creating our own tartan which is incorporated throughout the book.

This unofficial tartan is called the Caledonian-Bharatia which represents ourdiverse heritage and thinking as well as our purpose to “Be the Change.”

The Lost Hat
I love the lesson of the story and how you show such a lovely friendship. Even friends get frustrated sometimes. By having Strawberry show that not only can they solve the issue of the missing hat, but then having her come up with a solution so it doesn’t happen again, was a great moment! You give good imagery, maintain the rhyming throughout, and show the before, during, and after in terms of plot! Well done!

The Noisy Night
More lovely imagery! Nights can be scary for children –indoors or outdoors. I like how you tackle this idea of fear while stillshowing such safety in the moment. Again, you show the plot progression perfectly. You introduce the scene, show the chaos, and then wrap it up with a lesson children will understand!
