This year, we returned to the London Book Fair to continue spreading our mission and championing the National Year of Reading. We were delighted to be given a larger stand beside the Children’s Café, where we had the opportunity to speak with people from all walks of life about their relationship with reading, our mission to save lives through stories, and the incredible charities we proudly support.

As part of the event, we also sponsored the Children’s Café for a day, hosting inspiring talks and discussions with Bell & Bayne, Gardners, PAPYRUS, BEAT, and Humanimal Trust. It was a fantastic opportunity for us to further promote the importance of reading and connect with others who share our passion for making a positive difference through books and storytelling.

Being nominated for two awards at the IPG Awards ("The Bookseller Newcomer Award" and "World of Books Sustainability Award"), alongside so many outstanding organisations and individuals, means a huge amount to everyone at The Buddyhood. It’s incredibly rewarding to see the impact of our hard work, both in supporting our chosen charities and in creating meaningful, purpose-driven stories.

London, UK — Founders and authors of the publishing house The Buddyhood have shown they really care about stories with purpose. Harleen and Andrew have made a powerful commitment to creating a fairer, healthier world with a combined donation of almost £30,000 equivalent to the British Heart Foundation (BHF) and £20,000 equivalent to Oxfam. This generous contribution will help fund lifesaving research, community programmes, and global poverty-relief initiatives at a time when support is needed more than ever.

As part of this initiative, copies of Harleen and Andrew’s books will be available in British Heart Foundation and Oxfam stores across the UK throughout the festive season. Readers can be assured that 100% of proceeds from these books will go directly to the respective charity, helping fuel their vital work.

“Giving back is at the heart of why we write,” the authors said. “If our stories can entertain, inspire, and contribute to meaningful change, then that is the greatest gift of all.”

This Christmas, every purchase is more than a book — it’s an act of kindness, a spark of hope, and a contribution toward a brighter world.
